1962 Fender Stratocaster Dakota Red  ON Hold

We have just bought back this awesome 1962 slab board Fender Stratocaster that has a body only refinish by Roger Giffin in Dakota Red. Its an old job that has worn and aged very convincingly. Its had other tuners on it at some point revealed by extra small screw holes under the original patent Kluson tuners but the neck has a lovely worn in feel to its original finish which just begs to be played. Frets look to be original as does the nut and it plays well up and down the neck. It has a lovely un cracked green guard which a previous owner years ago has highlighted with a ball point pen various switch and control knobs settings. Under the guard is straight except for a 5 way switch and a changed tone pot in 1976. Also, it looks like our experimental owner has done the Hendrix pick up thing and switched the pickups round at some point so the edged of the pick body routes have been altered to accommodate. There is also a screw hole for a strap pin on the bottom horn. Everything else is there including the back plate to the tremolo cover and the guitar comes with its tremolo arm, bridge cover and with its original brown Fender tolex case.

Pickups read Neck, 6.12 middle, 6.13 and bridge 5.41 K ohms
