1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom

There can be few guitars as iconic as a black Gibson Les Paul Custom, the go to axe of choice for early 1970’s rock, glam rock through to punk. This one is a player grade example with a long time past headstock trauma that’s been solidly fixed and poses no problems moving forward. There is overspray to the area which makes the serial number difficult to read but it’s visible. Other than that its all there and in great lightly used condition, it weighs in at a hair over 10 lbs ( it wouldn’t be a Custom if it didn’t) Both T top patent # pickups have had their covers off and back on but there has been no interference to any wiring. Pot date that can be read is the 51st week of 1972 so probably among the last guitars produced that year. Neck pickup reads a healthy 7.54 K and the bridge 8.1 K ohms. All the hardware and plastic is original including the Gibson patent # bridge and the waffle back Kluson’s work well. I’m not a fan of bright gold hardware but i love dulled and worn gold hardware which looks awesome against the age black paint. Frets are wide and low and the guitar plays well up and down the neck.  All in all a ridiculously cool guitar that gets the business done at well under the price of an aged Murphy Lab. Comes in it original purple lined Gibson case.
