1964 Fender Stratocaster

Every now and then we get a cool players grade vintage guitar represented fantastic value in todays ever increasing vintage guitar market so i can’t see a better way to get into a small headstock late 64/ early 65 L series Fender Stratocaster than this one. Obviously its had a few changes but all the main pre CBS goodness is all still there which includes both a decent quite accurate refinished body in sunburst, and a small headstock pearl dot dark rosewood board neck still sporting what looks like its original frets. It weighs in at 7.5 lbs and the body retains all its original hardware including bridge saddles and block, neck plate etc but the whole pick guard assembly is from a 1971 guitar which includes 3 original 1971 wind grey bottom pickups reading 5.9k neck 5.85 middle and 5.8k ohms at the bridge. Fender would have switched to grey bobbins by this time so really not out of place on this guitar. We have added a genuine Fender aluminium shield to the assembly and the 3 way switch is a replacement. The neck also refinished, and sadly/annoyingly missing its neck date but it also has all the unmistakable features of a late L series neck. It has its original tuners except the low E which is a replacement with no others being fitted. Pearl dots and a lovely good condition dark board with a replaced transitional logo. The neck has a nice broken in feel and has the timeless classic C profile. The guitar nails that hot spikey  mid to late 60’s Jimi tone and does not disappoint in any department. Comes with its original black no logo Fender tolex case with just the middle catch working at the time of writing. The real deal for custom shop money.
