These don’t turn up very often and this one is a nice example of Martin’s foray into the classical world but became the guitar of choice for many in the early 1960’s folk revival. Designated a “G” for gut strings with a grand concert body size featuring a sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Neck joins the body at the 12th and it has a roomy 2″ nut. The guitar is in good all round condition for its years with no crack, breaks or repairs. Obviously the guitar shows finish wear throughout for its 67 years with the most notable being a small V nick to the corner of the back of the headstock. Comes in what looks to be its original case and had just 1 owner from new until a few years ago and was used professionally for performing and recording for most of its life and comes with a early 1960’s EP that the guitar was used for.
