1959 Gretsch 6121

How often do you see these? Very far and few between and even though they bear the ‘Chet Atkins” signature these are total rock ‘n’ roll machines. This one’s western orange finish has faded to a honey blonde finish which is most attractive. Its completely original and has its serial # scratched on the plastic switch cover which matches the label under. The all important Chet Atkins Sign post guard is in fantastic original condition with no cracks but the neck pickup ring has lost a corner.  Fitted with 2 PAF Filtertron pickups which deliver all the crunch you need and heard on countless of recording by the likes of Stevie Marriott, Pete Townshend and of course Malcolm Young. These are chambered guitars and this one weighs in at 7 lbs 7 oz. Its rock solid, and the Bigsby tail piece along with its original bar bridge work well and hold tune. The original tuners are also easy to turn and hold tune. The ebony board is smooth and true and retains its original frets with neo classic thumbnail fingerboard markers. The gold hardware has dulled down resulting in a very classy look, all in all a very cool hard to find guitar thats complete with its cowboy case.
