Superb 1951 blonde Gibson ES 175 D which must surely be a special order as the twin pickup ES 175 was not introduced as standard until 1953. Blonde finish would also only be available in low numbers and the ledger says only 105 single pickup blonde ES 175’s manufactured in 1951. So it would be safe to guess that there would be low numbers of the 2 pickup model 1951! The condition is certainly collector grade with the only change i can see being the pick guard which is later and has a filled hole where it would have attached to the face of the body on a previous guitar which does not extend to the top of ours. It has the lovely tall amber speed knobs correct for 1951 and the only other change from factory i can see is a strap button added to the heel of the neck and a filled hole to the bass side of the neck below the 13th fret. The guitar is on its original frets which show some light indentations up to about the 9th fret which do not affect the playing experience. The original no line Kluson tulip tuners work well and the guitar holds tune. The 2 P90 pickups are strong and characterful with the neck measuring 9.5k and the bridge 9.8 k ohms. The finish has aged to a glorious honey blonde and is in beautiful condition. The guitar comes in its original  brown case with green lining
