1932 National Triolian Polychrome

1932 National Triolian Polychrome

Here we have a superb example of Nationals first metal bodied single cone resonator guitar. Introduced in late 1929 our guitar escapes the Bakelite neck experiments but still displays early features such as larger straight cut “F” holes and a spray painted maple neck which joins the body at the 12th fret. The Triolian was made of lighter gauge steel than the more common Duolian and had a bound neck which gives the instrument a more refined feel. This guitar is set for finger style with an easy playing action with a full but comfortable neck profile and looks to have its original cone. The paintwork has survived well with the worst of the wear located to the bridge cover where one would rest their hand whilst playing. The rest of the wear is mainly to the edges of the guitar as would be expected and the back is superb with the painted Hawaiian island scene that we all love. These are hard to find now in the UK so a good opportunity to add one to your collection. Comes with its period correct case with replaced handle.
