1967 Gretsch 6120 Nashville SOLD
1967 Gretsch 6120 Nashville
Wow this is real survivor and probably the best playing 1960’s Gretsch 6120 we have had through the shop. The first thing you will notice is there is not one sign of any binding rot to be found on the guitar which is rare for this period of Gretsch which incidentally is just 3 months before the sale to Baldwin at the end of July 1967. The Western orange finish has zero fade and in collector condition. The neck angle is good and the original frets are un marked. There is the obligatory crack in the guard from an over tightened screw and there is an old national insurance number scratched into the heel cap. You will notice that all the gold hardware is sharp and bright and there is zero binding issues making it probably one of the nicest example’s we have seen in a while. The mute felt has been replaced and the mechanism works as it should, the bridge is a genuine Gretsch replacement. The Patent Filtertron pickups are strong and deliver that sound we love from Gretsch and it sounds great rocked up. I see no other alterations from factory, the pictures tell the story i think you will struggle to find a nicer example in a hurry . It comes in its original silver thin line case.
