1973 Fender Telecaster Sunburst

Again here we have another amazing example of a mid CBS period Fender guitar that does not deserve the rep that these get. This one weighs in at 6 lbs 10 oz an amazing find with any Telecaster from any period to be under 7 lbs. The bridge pickup gives a resistance reading of 5.8 k ohms and the neck 6.8 k ohms both sound strong and really capture the tones of the period. The finish is thin being nitro over a poly sealer coat and not yet the gloop that was to come in a couple or so years to come. You can see the guitar is in extremely good condition, a real survivor but up close it does show the usual bumps and knocks mainly to the edges as you would expect for 50 years. The sunburst finish really pops with zero fade. Sunburst on a Telecaster is a custom order so a relatively rare guitar even in the early 1970’s. All the electronics work well and nothing has been disturbed. The neck has a very comfortable C profile and sits tight in the neck pocket. The frets are virtually unmarked and the original nut is present. The guitar comes in a Fender black re issue tolex case.
