1969 Fender Telecaster

Killer 1969 Fender tele which must be one of the last to still feature cloth wiring and a nitro body finish which has worn beautifully with some lovely finish crazing. Fender introduced the then new poly finish through 68/9. At first it was used to seal the bodies rather than using fullerplast with nitro shot over the top. This goes on way into the 1970s as Fender use up their nitro, The finish to the back of the neck is thin poly which also gets thicker through the 1970’s The guitar is stock except the guard has shrunk with some corners missing so a good reproduction guard is on the guitar with the original in the case. The pots are from 1965, i can see some disturbance of solder so not sure if these are replacements or stock. Fender guitars from this period usually feature 1966 pots, but i guess its not impossible to have them from 65 as they used up what they had. The guitar sounds really nice and plays exceptionally well on a recent re fret. Comes in a recent case.
