Here we have a very nice 1966 Fender Stratocaster that has had a body only refinish in lake Placid Blue. It weighs in at 7 llb 90z and everything dates to 1966 as revealed by the pictures. The pots date to the 18th week of 1966 and the pickups are hand dated to November 1966 with the neck stamped October 1966. The pickups read; Neck 5.55k Middle 5.65k and the Bridge 5.6k ohms. Parts that have been changed are a 5 way switch, tremolo arm, the guard (It has a very old replacement guard that looks correct) and knobs. 2 tuners have been replaced but match in nicely with the originals. The frets look to be original with perhaps a replacement at the 5th and the nut is recent. The fret board is in very good shape with no grooving to the surface. It plays well up and down the neck which still retains the pre CBS C neck carve and it sounds incredible. I like these early large headstock transitional logo strats and they represent a bargain when you consider them against a pre 1965 Fender guitar. Comes with its original correct for 1966 no logo black Fender tolex case.
