1966 Fender Electric XII
Here we have a fine example of Fender’s legendary electric 12 string, its neck is dated February 66 and its potentiometers 17th week of 1966. Its a dot neck guitar with an unbound fingerboard. It weighs 8 lbs 5 oz and its neck pickup reads 9.5 k ohms and the bridge 9.2 k ohms. It’s also stamped “special” under the neck plate like many from this era seem to be as the model is fairly new to the Fender line up being introduced in mid 1965 and many early guitar’s featured at trade shows to promote the new instrument. The guitar plays perfectly with a nice low action easily explaining why these 12’s were a firm studio favourite. It also comes with its original handbook with matching serial number which is not often seen. The case is a Fender pre CBS brown tolex case and whilst not being in the best condition with some repairs and a missing latch, holds the guitar comfortably and does the job.
