1964 Fender Stratocaster
Here we have an early 1964 Fender Stratocaster finished in its timeless original sunburst finish. Being an early 1964 guitar and with 1964 being a transitional year for Fender with a neck dated February 64 it retains all the early pre CBS collector features desirable to collectors such as a clay dot fingerboard, spaghetti logo, green guard and a white tolex case.It weighs in at 7 lbs 8 oz and it completely original inside and out. The pots date to the 3rd week of 1964 and one of the black bottom pickups has a yellow ink stamp date reading April 21 64. The pickups give a healthy resistance reading of 5.6k ohms at the neck 5.7k ohms middle and 5.7k ohms at the bridge. The guitar shows some natural play wear for its 60 years with the finish lightly worn in to the reverse of the neck and bumps and scrapes to the body largely to the edges of the guitar as you would expect some of which look to have been touched in with a black marker pen or similar. The guitar is on its original frets which are in superb condition and there is no broken solder under the un cracked nitrate guard and retains its tremolo back plate and original arm.
