1964 Epiphone Rivoli

I love these bass’s, it would seem most of them ended up in the Uk whilst the American’s used the Gibson EB-2 The Sound of the 60’s as used by Chaz Chandler of the Animals and countless other 60’s “Beat Groups” This Epiphone EBV 232 Rivoli in splendid mid 60’s Gibson “Tea Burst” finish has it all. The pickup gives that fat upright bass sound and in combination with the treble switch gives enough attack to cut through when needed. Its in fabulous all original condition with good frets and plays extremely well up and down the short 31″ scale neck. Everything works as it should including the treble cut switch. The pictures tell the story and i especially like the multiple binding heal cap. The pick guard is a quality reproduction and the truss rod cover is also a replacement.  It comes in a shaped somewhat later period case which looks the part and thankfully a lot lighter than the huge wardrobe cases these usually come in.  A very cool Bass
