1962 Vox AC 15 Twin
Here we have a fine example of the legendary and rare fawn Vox AC 15 Twin as famously used by John Lennon in the early Cavern/Hamburg days and used to record The Beatles first album “Please Please Me” Its an incredible find and looks to be virtually untouched including the original fan framed Goodmans speakers also found in the Lennon amp. Its thought only 30 of these AC15’s were built in this format and we found this one resting in the north of England so likely from the same music shop Hessy’s of Liverpool as the Lennon twin. Condition wise it can only be described as excellent with just aged related patina. All the leather handles survive along with the brass vents, plus the original foot switch is present. The circuit looks to be untouched and in my view considering how fabulous this amplifier sounds doesn’t need to be, its only original once! The original Mullard power and rectifier valves with the rest being a mixture of replacements, i guess original Mullards could be sourced if it bothered but as it sounds so good we’ll leave that to the next owner. There is some pencil valve code markings on the back cover which i’m sure can be removed if a bother. The fawn rexine is in great shape along with the speaker cloth which shows some small wear to the bottom edge.
I won’t ship this with the normal couriers so collection preferred and advisable
