1962/3 Fender Stratocaster Fiesta Red
You would be excused in thinking that this was an original finish Fiesta Red guitar but the body has received an old refinish over desert sand in what must of been its original colour. The neck retains its original finish and logo and is dated September 1962 and as such is an early veneer board guitar with the neck pocket paint stick shadow. Its been re fretted with a new nut with low miles since and as such plays extremely well along the neck. The fingerboard is groove free and has not been levelled resulting in a full thickness veneer. The guitar retains its single line Kluson tuners which all work well and hold tune. It weighs 7 lb 7 oz and the hardware and plastics are completely original. The pots date to 24th week of 1963 making for a late 62 completed in 63 guitar. The nitrate guard has the usual crack by the neck pickup adjusting screw. It still has its original 3 way switch and of the 3 pickups i would suspect the bridge pickup to have been rewound due to the slightly different colour to the hook up wire. The guitar sounds exactly as you would expect and still retains its tremolo back plate and original arm. It comes in its original faux croc skin Selmer case. If your looking for a great feeling players Pre CBS Stratocaster you will be hard pressed to find a nicer example.
