1937 National Tri Cone Exploding Palm

Every now and then we get something in truly special in and this 1937 National round neck triplate is certainly that. This is one of probably only just 6 made ( 4 square necks & 2 round) and does not feature in any National publicity material. Its a brass bodied instrument with whats become known in leu of any factory designation as the “Exploding Palm”  which is etched into the nickel finish. The round neck is finished in its original grey prismatic paint and features a highly figured grey plastic pearl overlay with an impressive Art Deco National logo infilled with guilt. Of course it sounds incredible and is in collector grade condition. Bukka White was pictured in publicity material during the 1960’s holding a square neck version of this guitar but its unclear if he ever used one in his recordings.
