1966 Fender Jazzmaster Candy Apple Red Hold

Just in is this awesome 1966 Fender Jazzmaster in it’s original custom colour of Candy Apple Red with matching headstock. With a neck date of November 1965 and pot dates of 8th week of 1966 its a transitional model still having the dot neck but now with fretboard binding. With the removal of the neck plate you can clearly see the layers of factory finish of white primer, gold undercoat and the translucent cherry finish on top. The finish still retains its full lustre with no fade and is largely in good condition with some knocks and scrapes as you would expect for a guitar of this age. The electronics are all original and one of the pickups is pencil dated 8th of February 1966, the neck pickup reads 6.4k ohms and the bridge 6.3k ohms and sound strong and snappy. There was an extra earth wire added to the guitar connected to a replaced 3 pin switchcraft socket when we opened it up which we removed. The fingerboard is in good shape along with the frets and the guitar plays well with a low action. The addition of a Stewmac neck shim gives the neck a perfect angle with the original fibre shim in the case. The guitar weighs 8 lbs 4oz which is a typical weight for a Fender Jazzmaster from this period. It comes with its original black tolex case along with a vintage white Fender strap, tremolo arm and bridge cover making for a highly collectible Custom colour Fender Jazzmaster.
