1962 Fender Jazzmaster SOLD
1962 Fender Jazzmaster
Its rare these days that you get a Fender guitar exactly as it left the factory but i can tell this guitar is, or was completely virginal until i removed the neck which if you’ve done this enough times recognise that it’s a factory fit. With that in mind i’m not going to remove the guard as its fitted perfectly around all the inserts and i know if it comes off it will never go back on as good. So, if you have to peek it will be on the new owners watch. This slab board guitar weighs in at a hair over 8 lbs which i would consider light for the Jazzmaster. The bridge pickup gives a resistance reading of 7.1k ohms and the neck 6.5k ohms and all the controls work as they should. The guitar shows normal wear for an instrument of this age with that lovely broken in feel to the back of the neck which is dated April 1962. The neck has a full fat C profile and is a slab board with no grooving between the frets. There is fine lacquer crazing to the 2 1/2 tone sunburst finish, with the usual bumps and scrapes for a 64 year old guitar but most of the wear is to the sides and back making for an attractive guitar. The back of the guitar has some buckle rash and it looks like there is a circle of filled/touched in tack holes where a past owner has tacked on some kind of rash protector. The guitar is still on its original frets and nut with just the lightest of wear to the first 3 frets which corresponds to the wear on the reverse of the neck which results in a really nice playing loud resonant guitar with a good break angle behind the bridge. It comes with its original tremolo arm and brown Fender Tolex case
