Here we have what must only be classed an investment guitar, its quite a sight to behold when you first open the case, and then when you see all the trimmings that come with it it’s the icing on the cake. The polish cloth is still sealed in its polythene bag and all the tag serial numbers match to the guitar. If a 10 out of 10 guitar doesn’t exist this must surely be a 9.5. It has 2 small chips to the reverse lower rim and some chipping around the neck plate probably as a result from someone needing proof that it has a correct neck date stamp, my view on this is that it clearly is what it is and i’m not over enthusiastic about further disembowelment. It weighs in at 7 lbs 7oz. I have always found 1966 Stratocasters sonically special, they seem to have one foot firmly in the smooth pre CBS bell tone department but with an edge and sparkle that adds some excitement to the mix. The case matches the guitar and the catches are eager to open with a satisfying click. Check the pictures you won’t see another like this for a while to come i’m sure!
