1972 was the first year for Fender natural ash finish no doubt inspired by the late 1960s vogue for removing the finish from instruments to allow the good vibrations to escape more easily! This one as you can see is in superb 100% original condition and features all the new for 1971 appointments such as the 3 bolt adjustable neck, bullet truss rod nut and double string trees. It has 3 grey bottom staggered pole pickups all dated to 1972 with the bridge: reading 5.52 k middle: 5.45 and the neck: 5.57 k ohms. All connected to its original 3 way switch and virgin solder joints throughout. All the plastic and hardware are original and un tampered with including the tremolo arm. There is some attractive birds eye figure to the maple neck. It weighs in at a typical for the era 4.3kg and comes in a late 1970’s / early 80’s Fender ABS case
