1956 Gretsch 6129 Silver Jet

Wow…i can’t quite believe we actually have 2 1950’s Gretsch Silver jets on our books at the same time. This one is from 1956 and the Gretsch freaks out there will notice it has the wrong fret marker inlays for 56. It should have block inlays but its well documented that Gretsch had a few issues with DuoJet necks and quite a few got re necked under warranty probably in 1959/59 explaining the Neo Classic or “Thumbnail” markers. Of course in every other respect the neck feels and matches the guitar completely. This guitar has a non discoloured top free from clear coat so has a bright sparkle finish. The guitar is completely original with non G arrow knobs and 2 strong De armond pickups and the guitar plays extremely well with a good neck angle. Of course it has that “Great Gretsch Sound” too! Comes with its original snow flake case. We also have the matching snowflake 6161 Gretsch amplifier which can be found in our vintage amp section of the site.
