Here we have a superb players grade nitron topped Gretsch Duo Jet from 1956. The guitar has had its back and neck refinished and its control wiring and pots are relatively recent replacements which can be seen as a bonus as old Gretsch wiring can decay more than other marques which can result in a considerable loss in top end and response. Importantly both Dearmond Dynasonic pickups are original. The tuners are Grover replacements and they work well. There is a slight split in the nitron top to the top rim but its stable and should be of no concern moving forward. The guitar has been set up with a 1950’s Selmer B3 Bigsby tail piece and a recent Gretsch bar bridge which suit the guitar perfectly. For any Cliff Gallup fans we can fit a fixed Bigbsy arm at request and the guitar comes with a Melita bridge for those that prefer that set up. The guitar is a great player with a low action with a comfortable full C profile on what looks to be its original frets. The pickups are strong in output and nail that 1950’s RnR tone.

Comes in a 1950’s Guild case
